The Montgomery Police Department is conducting a death investigation following a weekend shooting that occurred in the 5700 block of Bell Road.
At about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, MPD Patrol responded to the area after receiving a report of a subject shot. Upon arrival officers located an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound. The man, identified as Ubaldo Estrada, 33, of Montgomery, was transported to Baptist Medical Center South, where he later was pronounced dead.
The initial investigation indicates that Estrada made forced entry into the residence. No arrests have been made, and no further information is available for public release.
Because Estrada's shooting death was caused by another person, his death will be recorded as the city's 28th homicide of 2013.
Police ask individuals with knowledge of this shooting to call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, Secret Witness at 262-4000, or the Montgomery Police Department at 625-2831.
