ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama jury says an Enterprise man was legally standing his ground and defending himself when he fired a rifle three times into a truck his nephew was driving.

The Dothan Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/19DVGhe ) 38-year-old Mickey Jordan was acquitted on a felony charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle by a Geneva County jury Thursday. Jordan's attorney, Jason Brogden, says the verdict shows Alabama citizens "won't be branded a felon for standing your ground."

Jordan was charged in November 2010 after his nephew, Alex Ray Jordan, came to his home with a wrecker truck to retrieve a piece of heavy equipment. Brogden says Jordan got his rifle and shot at the truck after his nephew threatened to kill him and started driving in circles in his yard.
