BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The father of the child who died Saturday of blunt force trauma has been charged with first degree murder and simple battery.

According to Baton Rouge Police, 11-month-old Aaliyah Heard died from injuries she received on Friday, June 22, 2013.

Aaliyah's father, 26-year-old Larry Leflore was arrested Thursday. The child's mother, Ashley Heard, 28, was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile

The child was taken by EMS  Friday afternoon around 1:15 p.m. to the Baton Rouge General Mid-City hospital. She was later taken to BRG Bluebonnet and died Saturday morning just after 11 a.m.

Prior to the infant moving from one hospital to another, the police report shows officers found "multiple bruises on face, suspected cigarette burns to extremities, and a large burn to the upper right thigh."

It stated the baby suffered a broken right clavicle, bleeding on the brain and more. The police report also read the mother admitted to seeing the burn marks and bruises to the baby's face, but didn't report them, saying she thought they would go away. That's why she faces a charge for cruelty to a juvenile.

Leflore was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
