Man recovering after overnight shooting

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A man was shot twice following an early Thursday morning robbery.

Huntsville Police responded to a call around 1:30 a.m. from a resident at the Hillside Village apartment complex off Bonnell Drive. The caller said someone was knocking on their door, saying they had been shot.

Officers arrived on the scene to find a man who had been shot twice in the breezeway of a building. The man said he was attempting to enter his apartment when a man robbed and then shot him.

A HEMSI ambulance transported the man to Huntsville Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A canine unit was called to the scene to assist with the search for the shooter. Police said they are looking for a man wearing camouflage pants and a black shirt with a black mask.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
