FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

The mayor of Franklin stopped on Tuesday a plan to allow guns inside City Hall.

Alderman Dana McClendon had proposed that people with gun permits should be able to bring their weapons into City Hall.

The board voted 4 to 4, so Mayor Ken Moore cast the tie-breaking vote, deciding against the plan.

The ban on guns at City Hall will stand.
