A Morgan County grand jury handed down four indictments against a man accused of robbing four banks.

Joe Guthrie now faces four counts of first degree robbery.

Morgan County investigators said Guthrie robbed two banks in Eva, one bank in Lacey's Spring, and one bank in Somerville.

Investigators arrested Guthrie on February 13th after the Lacey's Spring robbery.

The indictments state Guthrie stole $13,000 after holding up Premier Bank in Eva on January 14th. Investigators said he wore a blue rain jacket and black ski mask and carried a gun.

Officials said he hit the People's Bank in Somerville on January 25th and took off with $4,000. Witnesses said he wore a hoodie and ski mask and had a gun.

According to the indictment, Guthrie held up the Eva Bank in Eva on January 30th and investigators said this time he wore the blue rain coat and black ski mask and again had a gun, getting away with $10,000.

On February 13th, authorities said he hit the People's Bank in Lacey's Spring. The indictment states he had on a black ski mask and had a gun. The grand total this time: more than $12,500.

Investigators said they found a handgun in Guthrie's truck following that robbery and according to the indictment, a search of his home turned up a blue rain coat.
