A Lauderdale County judge set a hearing date to determine if dogs seized during an dog fighting ring investigation should be put down.

Lauderdale County investigators report finding thirteen pit bulls on a property on County Road 41. Investigators say the dogs were chained to car axles.

Investigators also report finding bones in a burn pile at the back of the property.

A motion filed in Lauderdale County Circuit Court request a judge hold a hearing to determine if the dogs need to be "humanely destroyed due to disease, injury, or lack of useful purpose because of training or viciousness."

The motion also requests the suspects pay for all costs involving the dogs.
