2 injured, 1 in custody following chase, car crash

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

One person is in custody, and two injured, following a chase by Madison County Sheriff's deputies that ended in a car crash Saturday.

Deputies say three people stole an SUV from a car dealership in Meridianville. A GPS inside the vehicle was used to trace it to Huntsville around 11 a.m.

Deputies followed the car down Winchester Road, when two of the offender inside bailed out of the vehicle and took off on foot.

The driver of the stolen vehicle then crashed the car in the 6000 block of Sandia Blvd. 

Deputies continued pursuing the other two suspects around the area of Carmel Dr., Belgrade Dr. and Hollow Rd.

One suspect was transported to Huntsville Hospital with serious injuries. Another offender was being loaded onto a HEMSI vehicle at the scene with unknown injuries, and the third was arrested by deputies.

No names have been released at this time.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
