Good Friday evening and TGIF!
We're continuing to dig deeper into the fallout from the Alabama Accountability Act, which has labeled over 70 Alabama schools as "failing." The list includes nine schools in Huntsville and one in Decatur. But many of the schools on that list have shown improvement over the last few years, so why isn't that progress being taken into account? WAFF 48's Charles Molineaux explores the answer to that question.
We're also checking in on the second night of activity at Huntsville's new Arts and Entertainment District. Yesterday's opening night is being hailed as a success by city leaders and business owners. So how did the first Friday night fare? We'll take you to downtown Huntsville for more on how the city continues to respond to this new initiative.
And a first-of-its-kind worldwide study by the World Health Organization reveals that one-third of all women have been physically or sexually assaulted by a current or former partner. We spoke with a North Alabama expert on how these numbers compare to our area.
We hope you'll join us on WAFF 48 News at 10.
See you then!
