HPD arrest 7 in prostitution sting

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities arrested seven women in a prostitution sting on Thursday. The arrests were made in the area of Drake Avenue west of Triana and near the intersection of Drake and Cobb Road.

21-year-old Deana Johnson, 30-year-old Rosemary Lemmond, 48-year-old Suzanne Hunt, 32-year-old Mellisa Robertson, 22-year-old Latasha Davis, 49-year-old Teresa Jackson, 29-year-old Amanda Garrett were arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution.

Deana Johnson was also charged with resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

"The Police Department has been very open to the needs of the West Huntsville neighborhoods, and are to be commended for their quick response to the concerns expressed from the Merrimack, Triana Village, and Holiday Homes neighborhoods," said Huntsville City Councilman Bill Kling.

Huntsville Police Department and the Huntsville-Madison County Strategic Drug Team conducted the investigation.
