Huntsville PD investigate pair of armed robberies

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies that occurred within a mile of each other Thursday.

The first incident occurred at 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Patton Road and Broyles Avenue. The victim in that case said he was attacked and robbed by a group of black males. One suspect was located and arrested after questioning. The suspect was charged with second-degree robbery.

The second robbery was called in at 9:00 p.m. Police responded to the 3800 block of Squaw Valley Drive. The victim there said he was robbed and assaulted by three black males. The victim was hit in the head during the attack and required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

A family member chased the men away and was shot at in the process, but was not injured.

No arrests have been made in the second case. It is not known if the two cases are related in any way. The investigation is ongoing.
