(RNN) - A man in Phuket, Thailand wearing a pink raincoat leaped over a convenience store counter and stole $71 – only to return moments later to return 32 cents.
In addition to the pink raincoat, the Bangkok Post reported that the suspect was wearing shorts, a motorcycle helmet, and a sanitary mask to cover his face.
While wearing this outfit, he threatened two staff members with a knife and grabbed 2,200 baht (about $71) from the cash register before running out of the store.
But only a few minutes later, when the two staff members were still talking about the robbery, the man came back to return a 10 baht coin, which is worth about 32 cents.
According to the Bangkok Post: "Police believed the robber might have been thinking that if he returned some of the stolen money and then was caught, the court would go lightly on him and keep him out of jail."
Police said they were able to retrieve fingerprints from the 10 baht coin.
