NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police said a man involved in a drug transaction drove to a Metro school with two kids in the backseat.

Officers ended up arresting him in the parking lot of John Early Museum Magnet Middle School.

Police said they received a tip that a drug deal would be taking place near the school.

Police said when the car pulled into the parking lot of the school on Cass Street, a man and woman were in the front and passenger seat.

In the back of the car, police said there was a 2-year-old and 6-year-old child.

When officers approached the vehicle, police said the passenger, Alfio Lewis, tried hiding some crack cocaine between the seats.

Police said Lewis, who is facing felony drug charges, has a history of narcotics and homicide. It's not immediately clear what his relationship is to the children he had with him at the time.
