LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Lauderdale County doctor who admitted to medical fraud is now in federal prison.

Doctor Diana McCutcheon reported to prison Friday.

A judge sentenced McCutcheon to a year and a day in prison for billing Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare for non-reimbursable cosmetic skin treatments.

She pleaded guilty to health care fraud and wire fraud last fall.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
