Sequestration impacts lodging business; working conditions at poultry processing plants

Good Thursday evening. Here are a few of the stories we're covering on WAFF 48 News at 10.

We're continuing to follow the numerous repercussions from the federal budget cuts known as sequestration. We've told you how these cuts are impacting the Tennessee Valley, now we're looking at yet another impact: hotels and the lodging business. WAFF 48's Diana Crawford is digging deeper into a negative impact the industry could face right here in our backyard.

We're on top of a developing story out of Decatur tonight. There's been a stabbing on 12th Avenue. Witnesses say a man stabbed two other men near his home.

And the chicken processing industry is huge here in North Alabama. With that in mind, we're following claims by workers at plants that they're exploited, overworked and intimidated. WAFF 48's Charles Molineaux is digging deeper into those claims and getting both sides of the story.

Be sure and join us for these stories and more all new tonight at 10.

See you then!
