Tonight Decatur takes the party to the streets

Good Morning!

Today in the WAFF Newsroom we're taking a look at Decatur's new Arts and Entertainment District.  It starts today, which is ahead of schedule.  Beginning at 4:00 this afternoon, people can take alcoholic drinks with them when they leave a bar or a restaurant.

WAFF's Lauren Morrison will break down the details, rules, and exact location of the district at 5, 5:30, 6, and 6:30 AM.

Also in Decatur, the City's animal shelter is asking for the public's help.  They're trying to avoid euthanizing animals, but they're dealing with a serious overcrowding problem.  In just two days more than 80 animals were surrendered.

And Finally, remember the Carnival Triumph, also known as the "Nightmare Cruise?"  Well, today the ship hits the Gulf of Mexico.  It will be the ships first cruise since the February trip that left passengers stranded at sea without working plumbing or electricity.  We'll have more on this story in our 5:30 AM half hour.

Stop in and join us before heading out for the day.
