BIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFF) - Girl Scout Camps in Alabama may not be closing after all.
The Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama voted Wednesday to reconsider the plan to sell camps including camp Trico in Guntersville.
A group from the TN Valley met other supporters in Birmingham to form a "wall of green" around the Girl Scout Office to rally for the camps.
They sang and gave board members letters from scouts. GSNCA has already put some camps in a resting state, which means they're neither closed nor open.
Supporters said camping is essential for girl scouting and that Girl Scouts USA is trying to close camps in at least 27 states.
