Gunner Scarano was released from UAB Tuesday afternoon. When he arrived at his Huntsville home, he was greeted by a surprise party with family and friends.

Friends said he was overwhelmed and tired. Doctors had to amputate Scarano's bottom right leg due to his injuries.

The wreck happened on Bailey Cove Rd. in May. Ten-year-old Jaden Coppens was killed in the wreck.

According to police, Scarano was trapped inside of his burning truck after causing the chain-reaction crash on Weatherly Road on May 28.
