School director charged with sexual abuse, put on administrative leave

Madison Police arrested the director of a music school, charging him with sexually abusing a child. Police made the arrest after receiving information from the Tennessee Department of Children's Services who had recently taken a report that a child had been sexually abused.

On Friday, June 7, officers arrested Dennis Craston Brock, 60 of Madison, for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. Detectives were told that the incident happened several years ago while the juvenile was in Madison.

According to police, Brock is the director of New Song School of Fine Arts. In a brief statement, the New Song School Board said Brock has been placed on administrative leave.

The victim reported the abuse to parents and authorities after attending a school presentation on child abuse awareness. Police said the victim was not a student at New Song School.

Brock was questioned at the Madison Police Department and arrested Friday afternoon. He was taken to the Madison County Jail where he was held pending a $5,000 bond.
