Huntsville Police investigate shooting

Police said the shooting happened on Barbara Drive in Huntsville. Police said the shooting happened on Barbara Drive in Huntsville.
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville Police responded to a shooting Monday evening. Witnesses said the shooting started as a robbery.

The victim told police that he was sitting on the back deck of his home when he was approached by two men armed with handguns demanding money and illegal drugs.

After a struggle, an offender fired a gun at the victim. The victim told police he was chased through his house and into the street where he gave the men his wallet. The men then fled the scene before police arrived.

The victim suffered four gunshot wounds to his leg, hand and stomach. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

The case remains under investigation.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
