HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Tomorrow is the big race for Huntsville City Schools Team USA.

They are competing in Great Britain's Greenpower Car Competition. They worked with the Huntsville Center for Technology to design and build an electric vehicle.

The group is the first team from the United States to compete.

"Tomorrow's the big day and everyone's ready to race. We hope to go out there and have a good day on the track and bring back a win for the U.S.," said student Nick Peterson.

The students got to do some sightseeing before the big race. They visited Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London.

The team will return to Huntsville next week.
