Huntsville Police investigate overnight cutting

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Police responded to an overnight cutting in the 3000 block of Ortega Circle in Huntsville. Officers said it happened before 2 a.m. Saturday.

The victim told police he got into an altercation with his girlfriend and she produced a knife cutting him several times.

The offender was still on scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody. The victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital by HEMSI and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate.

    A two-vehicle crash Saturday claimed two lives.  Don Grissom Kimbrough, 63, of Tuscumbia, was killed when the 2015 Volkswagen he was driving collided with a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Philip Lee Pounders, 62, also of Tuscumbia.
