JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Alabama Supreme Court rejected a Jackson county man's appeal following his child abuse conviction.

Sherman McBryar pleaded guilty to multiple counts of child abuse 2012.

Prosecutors say he locked a 2-year-old child in a sweltering bathroom with a goat and bashed a child's head into a wall.

He was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

He appealed, saying that his attorneys didn't provide him with good enough counsel. He said the attorneys ended up giving him a deal with too much jail time.

The Alabama high court disagrees.

McBryar was also convicted of manslaughter in the 2001 death of a woman in Section.
