Thief steals debit card while in victim's vehicle

Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers are looking for "Chicago." Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers are looking for "Chicago."

How many times have you seen cases where a crook uses the victim's identity to steal money from them at an ATM?

It may be a common crime, but this crime was a bizarre theft involving an ATM and someone's stolen identity.

The man we need your help tracking down is caught in the act by a surveillance camera using a stolen debit card and stolen bank information to steal money.

But there's an unusual twist here as to how he got his hands on that personal information.

The victim told police he was making a deposit at the ATM drive though at the Redstone Federal Credit Union on Wynn Drive, and the thief was sitting right beside him in the car.

The victim said the guy is an acquaintance, but he only knows him by his nickname, Chicago.

Apparently, while the victim was punching in his bank account information, Chicago was watching, remembering, and then using that information to steal from him.

The victim even left his debit card on the dashboard, which Chicago also got his hands on.

If you have any idea of Chicago's real name and whereabouts, then the surveillance video is more than enough for you to turn him in and make a nice deposit of your own.

If so, make the anonymous phone call to 256-53-CRIME or send an anonymous text or e-mail by clicking on the Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers link.

There's up to a thousand dollars in reward money.
