JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Deputies are searching for a third person they say broke into a Jackson County college and stole a safe.

Deputies already arrested two people charged with breaking into the Northeast Alabama Community College on Highway 35 in the Powell community.

Deputies believe one of the suspects has a relative who works there and was able to steal a key to the school.

Deputies charged 24-year-old Hunter Ryan Gross and 21-year-old Cash Vernon Smelley, both of Scottsboro, with burglary and theft.

Deputies are still searching for 23-year-old Brandon Dawson of Hollywood. He also faces burglary and theft charges.

Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen said they broke into the college bookstore on May 14 and took a safe with approximately $500. Harnen believes they took the money and threw the safe in the river.

If you have any information on Dawson, call the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
