HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Someone killed 76-year-old Anthony Jackson and 69-year-old Terry Jackson last Tuesday in the West Huntsville United Methodist Church.

Police reports for that area show the neighborhood is no stranger to crime.

There are pages upon pages of incidents over the last six months - 411 incidents to be exact, anything from burglary to assault, but no murders until now.

Several neighbors said they are shaken up by the deadly stabbings, but not surprised.

In fact, one woman said, "It's 9th avenue, anything can happen here."

Another said she was a witness to the whole thing, as the suspected stabber ran through her yard.  She has been terrified ever since.

While violence goes on in the streets all the time, she said these murders brought things to a whole new level.

"I was told that Huntsville is supposed to be a good place and that happens. It was a church. Why would someone want to do that at a church?" asked neighbor, Angela Sass.

There is no doubt the murders have many in that neighborhood fearful.

Many people want to know was this a random act and if they should be worried a killer is still on the loose.
