5th person arrested for attempted murder after shooting

GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Guntersville Police are investigating a shooting that happened overnight Friday.

Authorities said it happened around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Williamson Street and Carlisle Avenue.

An officer in the area heard the shots fired and stopped a vehicle fleeing the scene. Four people were detained and were questioned by police.

Police said John Wesley Marks was transported to Marshall Medical North and then taken to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Four people were arrested and charged with attempted murder:

  • Willis Steve Pointer, Jr., 29, of Albertville
  • Keisha Leann Price, 23, of Albertville
  • Jarmare Demon Mathis, 25, of Gadsden
  • Max Leigh Blair, 30, of Albertville

On Monday, authorities arrested a fifth person in the shooting.

 

Jason Anthony Wills, 35 of Albertville, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is being taken to the Marshall County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
