LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

According to Alabama State Troopers, two people were killed in a single-vehicle wreck Friday morning near Athens.

It happened shortly after 4am on Highway 72 and Glaze Road.

Authorities said a pick-up truck carrying a trailer wrecked and caught fire.

Westbound lanes on Highway 72 near the wreck have been closed, eastbound lanes are down to one.

According to the Limestone County Coroner, the victims are believed to be from out-of-state and were taken to the forensic lab for identification.

State Troopers are continuing to investigate.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
