HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Huntsville resident was frantic to hear from her daughter after the tornados touched down.

Rochell Cawthorn's 22-year-old daughter, Tasha, lives in Cush, Oklahoma, which is close to Moore.

She had spoken to her several times before the tornados touched down, but when she couldn't reach Tasha hours after the destruction, Rochell took to social media to try to reach her daughter.

"I was trying to call her and she wouldn't answer and me not thinking the phone lines were down. I was thinking I have my daughter there, she's young, she has no family out there, and she's trying to make a living. So I'm constantly on Facebook. 'Tasha, if you hear me, please, answer my call,'" said Rochell.

Finally, to her relief, Tasha was able to call her around 1 a.m. Tuesday to let her know she was just fine. She and her co-workers rode out the storm in an underground shelter. She even went to work on Tuesday.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
