GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Guntersville businessman closed up shop and took off for Oklahoma to help in the relief efforts.

It all boils down to what north Alabama went through two years ago.

Steve Sutherland said it's his way of giving back to those who came to help in Alabama.

In downtown Guntersville, Tactical Products USA is usually open and ready for business on Tuesdays, but instead it was closed.

Owner, Sutherland, put out a call on Facebook that he was going to be closed for a little bit and was on a mission to Oklahoma.

Tuesday morning, people heeded his call and met him and his motor home at a local grocery store and helped purchase water and dry food supplies for the people in Oklahoma before hitting the road.

Sutherland said he hopes to come back by this weekend but may stay longer if he feels the need.
