TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

One of the oldest buildings on the University of Alabama campus is almost history.

A backhoe continued tearing down the Kilgore House on campus Friday. The house was originally built in 1890 at Bryce Hospital. Several years later, the first female UA students lived there.

A buyer backed out of purchasing the house after realizing it would be too expensive to move. The university is making room for a new student pavilion with a dining area.
