NEW ORLEANS (WAFB) -

According to WWL-TV in New Orleans, a seventh person has been arrested in connection with the shooting at a Mother's Day second line celebration that injured 19 people.

The seventh person arrested is now the fifth person accused of harboring one of the two men who are accused of shooting into the crowd. WWL-TV reports that Monique Pepe, 19, allowed the second shooter to hide out at her house.

She joins four others arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of attempted second-degree murder.

The other four arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of attempted second degree murder are: Nekia Youngblood, 32, Bionca Hickerson, 22, Brandy George, 28, and Justin Alexander, 19.

Pepe also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of heroin and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

NOPD identified Akein Scott, 19, as the suspected gunman on Monday, and arrested him late Wednesday night without incident. Scott has been charged with 20 counts of attempted second degree murder and is being held on $10 million bond.

Investigators learned that Akein Scott's older brother Shawn Scott, 24, also participated in the crime and arrested him Thursday morning. He has also been charged with 20 counts of attempted second degree murder.

"The identification, pursuit and arrest of Akein Scott and Shawn Scott makes it clear that we will not accept the culture of death and violence in our city," said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. "I want to thank the New Orleans Police Department and all the local, state and federal agencies who assisted in the capture and all the residents who remained vigilant and provided tips. The people of New Orleans made this happen because as a community we have said enough is enough. The rules of the game have changed on the streets of New Orleans, and we will not let up. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all of the victims."

NOPD has information indicating that both Scott brothers are members of the gang that calls itself the "Frenchmen and Derbigny Boys."

"We are seeing a game-changing attitude in New Orleans," said Superintendent Ronal Serpas. "By using CrimeStoppers to anonymously and safely report information to police, the fear and intimidation that gangs try to inflict on this community- are becoming things of the past. Together, the people of New Orleans and their police force are in control, working together and making New Orleans a safer place."

Three victims of the shooting remain in the hospital, including one in critical condition.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
