A main break sent water rushing in an area along Hurricane Road Saturday night.
The man accused of sexually abusing eight children in the city of Tallassee could find himself out of jail following a Wednesday court hearing, but the freedom won't come without a hefty price.
A judge set bond for Steven Conrad at $5 million.
The hearing was Conrad's first appearance in court on multiple charges against the children.
He's accused of, and has reportedly confessed to, abusing each of the children. All of the victims are under the age of 12. One is less than 3-months old and some are even said to be his own children.
Conrad faces more than 80 counts including sexual abuse, rape and sodomy.
Authorities also arrested Conrad's wife, 26-year-old Brandy Jean Conrad as well as 56-year-old Helen Hazel Gantt and 41-year-old Jeffery Mark Ray.
Conrad, Gantt and Ray have all been charged with failure to report the sexual abuse of a child.
Police say the three had knowledge of the abuse of at least one child and they made no attempt to help the child or report the crime to law enforcement.
