HUNTSVILLE, AL (AP) -

A Huntsville doctor's fight to get his license back is on hold after he requested a delay.

The state Board of Medical Examiners says the hearing over Dr. Shelinder Aggarwal's license is now set to be held August 21st in Montgomery.

That hearing had originally  been scheduled for May 15th.

The state suspended Aggarwal's license, no. 22384, in March after saying they found excessive dispensing of controlled substances to his patients.

The board called him an "imminent danger" to public health and safety.

Aggarwal's license will remain suspended until his hearing can be heard in three months.
