TUSCUMBIA, AL (WAFF) -

Tuscumbia Police said they have located a missing toddler.

This comes following a nationwide search for 22-month-old Salenia Davis and her non-custodial grandmother.

Tuscumbia Police said Davis has been missing since April 29th when she was taken by her grandmother without the consent of the child's guardian.

The baby's grandmother, 43-year-old Tina Vaughn of Waterloo, left with Salenia just three days before the baby's aunt was granted custody.

Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan said Vaughn and Salenia were living with the aunt, Pamela Hollander, in Tuscumbia at the time.

Hollander reported the baby missing on Monday after trying to get the child back from the grandmother. Vaughn stopped talking to family members and Hollander became concerned for the child.

Police said Vaughn turned herself in Wednesday morning but did not have the child with her. Vaughn was taken into custody on outstanding warrants, and a short time later police located Salenia at Vaughn's sister's home on Virginia Avenue in Florence.

Hollander said she's glad to have Salenia back with her and she just wants to establish some sort of normalcy for the child.

"She's been tossed around her whole life, so we're trying to get her back situated. I mean, which I got kids, so that helps," she said.

Vaughn is currently in custody with Florence Police at this time for traffic warrants.

Any additional charges related to this case are pending; she has not been charged with anything in this case at this time.
