FRANKLIN COUNTY, KS (KCTV) -

Authorities believe they have found a missing 18-month-old girl whose mother was found dead along with two men at a farm home in nearby Franklin County after six days of intensive searching.

Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said the remains recovered in Osage County on Saturday are believed to those of Lana-Leigh Bailey, a child authorities previously reported as presumed dead.

Her discovery comes just before extra resources from the Major Case Squad returned to their home agencies Sunday.

The toddler along with her 21-year-old mother, Kaylie Bailey, 30-year-old Andrew Stout and 31-year-old Steven White are all victims of a quadruple homicide, according to Richards.

Kyle Flack was charged Friday with capital murder as officials investigated their deaths.  The 27-year-old convicted felon also was charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder.

He is being held on a $10 million bond.

Lana's body was discovered about 10 p.m. Saturday by an Osage County sheriff's deputy who was searching an area for items that could be connected to the deaths reported May 6.

"We didn't have any tips or anything that led us there. This was the initiative of a deputy and it was good police work," Richards said.

The evidence collected when the body was recovered led investigators to believe it was the toddler's body.

Richards would not confirm the exact location where they found Lana, saying only it was in rural Osage County.  It is believed that her body was found somewhat off the path of the broad area investigators thought their suspect may have traveled.

"We never imagined that he would come down this route, down this country road ... and do what he did," neighbor Josh Magrath said.

It is hard to imagine anything disturbing the calm of that quiet stretch of Osage County.  But Magrath watched as investigators swarmed East 317th Street, west of South Woodring Road, 4 miles west from the town of Williamsburg.

"A lot of police, crime scene," Magrath said.

It didn't take the Magraths long to guess officers had found signs of Lana just down the road.

It wasn't the answer anyone wanted, but it caps a week of grueling searches for investigators who had worked up to 36-hour days.

"This is personal for all of us as well. Any type of crime such as this takes an emotional toll, but especially when it's a child," Richards said.

Now with this phase done, the biggest relief is finally bringing some answers to a family beyond grief.

The aunt of Kaylie Bailey released a statement for the family Sunday saying, "although we were grieved at notification of discovery of Lana's body, we are thankful for the closure."

Investigators said the closure of the search for them allows them to move to the next phase - building a case against Flack.

Flack is due back in court Monday afternoon.

In the meantime, the family of Kaylie and Lana Bailey is planning services for them later this week.

There will be a visitation Wednesday night at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa.  Their celebration of life service will take place Thursday afternoon.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the family can send money to the funeral home.
