LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

It's called the "music that changed the world." Now music lovers will get a chance to explore the roots of the Americana music.

Leaders have joined in a multi-state partnership to help expand their musical heritage, opening it to the world.

The so-called triangle encompasses Nashville, Florence, Tupelo, New Orleans, and everything in between, including part of the Tennessee Valley.

Officials say a visit to these towns and cities is where music lovers will find rich musical history and promise of a future generation.

Florence and Muscle Shoals standout along the route as a leader in preserving this history.

From the birthplace of W.C. Handy to the home of Fame Recording Studios, leaders in the Shoals are excited to open their doors to visitors worldwide.

"To be involved in the front end of this, it's already gotten a lot of traction and we're just excited that we can help tell the story," said Debbie Wilson, Florence-Lauderdale Tourism Director. "It's in the water, and we just want the world to know that and it's just another tool for us."
