JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

First responders race to save the life of a Jackson County man after a 911 call that his wife shot him. However, it wasn't true, and the wife is now facing charges.

Much like bomb threats, it really does cause major problems for first responders.

Just for the sheriff's department alone, the chief deputy said it tied up an entire shift as well as authorities in the state of Georgia.

Pamela Cheryl Chambers, also known as Pamela Cheryl Pickle, 37, was charged with rendering a false alarm.

Sheriff's officials say they received a 911 call April 29th to go to a home on County Road 93 in Bryant, that a woman had shot her husband at a motel in Bridgeport.

After a search, the man was eventually located but was unharmed.

It was learned the woman had an associate in Dade County, Georgia so Georgia authorities were put on alert. They later learned the associate was also unharmed.

That culminated with Chamber's arrest.

Chambers is now out on a $2500 bond and is due before a Jackson County district judge July 12.
