GSC Baseball Tournament moving to Georgia

After being washed out for two straight days in Chattanooga, the decision was made Sunday afternoon to relocate the remaining games of the 2013 Gulf South Conference Baseball Tournament to Carrollton, Ga.

Weather permitting, Monday's schedule will have North Alabama playing an elimination game against host West Georgia at noon Central (1:00 Eastern), followed by Delta State and West Florida at 3 p.m. and West Alabama and Valdosta State at 6:00 p.m.

UNA lost its opening game of the tournament 4-1 to Valdosta State back on May 2. The Lions rebounded to defeat Christian Brothers 10-5 on May 3 and advance in the loser's bracket, but the last two days of the tournament have been rained out.

With field conditions in Chattanooga deemed unplayable for at least another day or two due to heavy rain over the weekend, the decision was made to move two hours South to Carrollton, even though Monday's forecast carries a 60 percent chance of rain.
