'Be Brave, Go Bald' event to help fight cancer

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Some people will do just about anything to help fight childhood cancer and that includes shaving their heads.

The "Be Brave, Go Bald" event raised money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Dozens of people came to the Brickhouse in Huntsville to get a trim to support the fight against cancer.

"I have had to go through it before, and this time I didn't have to and that makes it even better because there's no chemo therapy involved for me. And I just feel bad for the people who are still going through it," said Karen Thomas, a cancer survivor that participated in the event.

More than 400 people signed up for a cut but those who weren't quite as brave still helped by donating money to St. Baldrick's. Click the link if you'd like to donate to the St. Baldrick's Foundation: http://www.stbaldricks.org/
