Preliminary hearing underway for UNA rape suspects

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A preliminary hearing is underway in Lauderdale County for the three men accused of raping a UNA student.

The hearing for Deandre Harrison, Eddrick Harris, and D‘Anthony Byrd started about an hour ago.

Court documents said Harrison, Harris, and Byrd took the victim to a dorm room, and gave the victim pills while she was drunk.

Harrison and Harris played football for UNA but have been suspended from the team pending the outcome of the case.

    Three adult males and one juvenile were arrested in Limestone County on Thursday after a four-hour manhunt and charged with multiple counts stemming from a string of vehicle thefts.Three adult males and one juvenile were arrested in Limestone County on Thursday after a four-hour manhunt and charged with multiple counts stemming from a string of vehicle thefts.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
