DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A Tennessee Valley business honored an employee who served his country, and that Army Reserve veteran honored his bosses back.

The soldier wanted to honor Con-Way because of all the support they gave to him and family while he was on two deployments overseas.

Army Reserve Staff Sergeant Brian McClesky served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and again in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

While McClesky was overseas, Con-Way Freight continued to pay him, and they maintained full insurance benefits for his wife and child.

McClesky presented the company with an American flag that was flown on an F-16 fighter jet in Afghanistan.

"To me, it's top of the line. I know very, very few places that do it. It was nice to know my family didn't have to worry about health insurance or anything while I was gone," he said.

Con-Way Freight is known for supporting employees who serve in the military. They have twice won the Department of Defenses' Patriot Award, given for excellent support of their workers who are in the guard and the reserves.
