See, Click, Fix: Bob Wade Lane

Posted: Updated:

"It was bad, real bad." That's how Ralph Logan described the road conditions on Bob Wade Lane. He would know. He's driven on Bob Wade between Memorial Parkway and Mount Lebanon Road for years. Many of you have reported the same thing.

"Oh, you could drive down it, and there were so many washed out places, dips in the road," said Michael Johnson. "It would pull you off the side of the road. Right over the hill up here, it was just awful. I mean, it was just so bad. They (drivers) were going into the other lane. I mean, they were running off the road. And if you went off the road, it was hard to get it in control again and get it back on the road."

We passed along those concerns and many more to Huntsville Public Works, though they had quite a few reports already. It would need more than just a patch job. They did a complete re-surfacing over a one-mile stretch.

"They completely milled it down and then started over," said Alan Hall, Public Works Superintendent. "Laying it back up, about a two or three day job when you get your crews out there."

"I had a pretty good idea that that's the way they were going to do it," said Johnson. "But, like I said, since it's been resurfaced, it's just so much better."

"It's good. It's good, real good," said Logan.

But it will it solve all of those problems drivers were facing?

"Yeah, I believe it will," said Logan. "I really do."
