DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur Police are trying to piece together what led to a woman's death Monday morning.

Her truck crashed into a home in the 1700 block of Chenault Drive.

Authorities are not entirely certain what led to the wreck or if the wreck is even what killed her.

Neighbors said the female driver lost control of the vehicle when she came around a curve and then she traveled through at least two yards before crashing the truck into the house.

The driver was still alive when paramedics made it on scene, but she died shortly after.

Officials are not ruling out a medical emergency as the cause but say right now everything is under investigation.

Neighbors said it was very dramatic scene, and it caught a lot of people off guard.

"She was still alive. She was breathing; she just wasn't conscious," said Matthew Hand, crash witness. "She wasn't responsive at all. The operator just told me to do what I could to stop the bleeding. I took my shirt off, held it on her leg but… I tried."

The woman's name has not been released.
