MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Marshall County has signed on to support legislation that would form an authority board to control weeds in Lake Guntersville.

TVA stopped spraying for weeds a couple years ago except for around public boat ramps and campgrounds.

Representative Wes Long said the bill now in the legislature would allow the board to seek federal funds to resume the weed spraying program.

The city of Guntersville also passed support for the legislation with a resolution this week.
