LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Former Town Creek police officer, Brandon Shane Mundy, pleaded guilty to a civil rights violation on Thursday in federal court.

He hit a man with a "dangerous weapon" during a traffic stop in 2009.

Mundy will be sentenced on August 13.

Mundy recently pleaded guilty to two counts of criminally negligent homicide. The charges stem from a 2010 wreck.

Mundy ran a stop sign in his North Courtland PD patrol car and collided with another car, killing two people.
