ALEXANDER CITY, AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Department of Corrections is searching for a man they consider to be an escapee from an Alexander City area Community Based Facility.

ADOC says Daniel Lee Bass was reported missing from his job site at approximately 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after failing to return from a restroom break.

Bass was sentenced out of Shelby County on September 6, 2012 and is serving a 5 year sentence for theft of property. Bass was recently denied parole - his sentence was scheduled to end in March 2014.

Bass is described as a white male, 5'9" tall weighing approximately 165 pounds. He has brown eyes and red hair.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Bass you are asked to contact your local law enforcement agency.
