HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Federal agents from the Transportation Safety Administration said they confiscated a loaded revolver from a passenger's bags at a security checkpoint at Huntsville International Airport on Tuesday.
Jon Allen from the TSA said the .22 caliber handgun was found in a carry-on bag.
The incident is surprising, but hardly rare.
"Last year, 1,549 firearms were discovered at TSA checkpoints nationwide including six at Huntsville International." Allen said. "There have been four firearms discovered at HSV so far this year."
Allen said firearms may be transported in checked bags, but not carry-on. The man who had the weapon wasn't arrested, but may face a serious fine.
