See, Click Fix: Potholes on Millbrook Drive in Huntsville

Posted: Updated:
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The road is falling apart. That's what the See, Click, Fix report showed for Millbrook Drive, from Sparkman to Greenhill Drive.

We checked it out, and found it's an older road that's definitely uneven in spots. Arvin Legg, who's lived down the street for 46 years, said Millbrook and the surrounding streets have been a little rough for a while.

"It gets potholes beat out in it on a pretty regular basis," said Legg. "And the patchwork doesn't hold up all that good sometimes. It's hard on your vehicles, plus cutting around things. It makes it a little dangerous, trying to dodge potholes."

WAFF 48 News contacted the Huntsville Public Works Department and described what we saw. When we caught up with one of the superintendents, he said they sound more like what he calls skin patches.

"They're not deep enough to be holes," said Alan Luna. "Just actually where the asphalt is broken up and turned loose.

But still, it is something they fix.

"I know it's been a lot of wet weather, and it's gotten real bad in a lot of areas here now," said Legg. "Maybe, summertime, maybe they can work on it and get it fixed up again."

We got in touch with the crew that covers this section of Huntsville and they will be checking it out Tuesday morning to see where they can patch Millbrook Drive and make it smoother.
