FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Florence Police arrested the owners of A Plus Pawn on Florence Boulevard for buying stolen property and reselling it.

Timothy Phillips, 58, and Melda Phillips, 45, were each charged with first degree receiving stolen property and criminal solicitation.

These arrests were the result of a two year investigation.

The most common item police said they stole and sold was jewelry.

Investigators said they were tipped off by customers who said they were sold stolen items.

Officials believe this case could be related to recent burglaries in the area.

Timothy and Melda are out of jail on a $3,500 bond.

The case is still under investigation.
